17th Avenue Animal Hospital employs full time Animal Health Technologists. The completion of an extensive two year program allows them to be in charge of radiology, blood work, anesthetic monitoring, cytology, dentistry, surgical assistants, animal restraint, animal nursing and assisting our veterinarians in their appointments.
They are required to take part in continuing education each year in the form of courses, conferences and seminars in order to keep up to date with new methods and techniques in the ever-changing face of medicine. It is their number one goal to provide you and your pet with the best quality of care and to make your pet’s experience at 17th Avenue Animal Hospital a positive one.

Our assistants are also a vital part to our team. They help both the AHT’s and doctors with restraint of animals, help in patient exams, radiology, tend to the clean up of kennels and treatment areas and are caregivers to the pets who are in the hospital due to illness or just recovering for surgery.
